Making an ISO from my Disk for Netbook

Hi all

I have the Sold Out Software disk of Worms 2/Worms Armageddon (bought from ebay). In addition to my PC, I want a copy on my netbook.

I've no problem ripping it to iso and installing via daemon tools, but if I then apply a crack am I going to fall foul of any server restrictions or anything similar?

I've not played online before - though I'm going to be playing with a mate from work so I guess it's direct, and not online, therefore shouldn't present an issue?

Basically I'm asking if running a cracked exe on my netbook is going to create issues.

Oh also inb4 foaming at the mouth comments about piracy - it cost me £2 from ebay, I'm not that cheap.

cheers
J

As long as you keep the disc image mounted on the netbook, you won't need a crack, only the latest beta update (currently 3.6.31.0).

Oh awesome I didn't know that - problem solved then!

Thanks for the quick reply; very much appreciated.

Sure thing!

Oh and even if you're only going to be playing with your mate, you could still do it through WormNet and simply host passworded games for each other when you want to be left alone. Provided both of you don't have the IRC port 6667 blocked and one of you can host games on port 17011, it might make things a little more intuitive having an actual lobby via which to chat and join games. Then once you're setting up the game, it's all very similar to how you'd do it offline anyway.

WormNet looks like this, by the way: http://snoop.worms2d.info/

Hello, first time here, just bought a copy of the Sould-Out edition of W:A, having a blast just like all those years ago.

I wanted to ask about what has been said in this topic - does that mean that W:A doesn't have any method of identifying unique copies? This would mean that I could share my disc image (had to make one due to read errors) with my girlfriend and play with her over WormNET with no risk of banning etc., is that so?

And before you lynch me (according to the rules, you should) - I dare say that would only be a temporary solution. Surprisingly enough, she fell in love with Worms at a first glance, so as soon as I see another cheap copy, I'll buy her one
