worms 3d review

hello, here is my reviewof worms3d gamecube, i hope u like it

The worms battles his way to the Gamecube, can he succeed?
Based on the movie, which is based on the popular video game series, worms makes his way to the Gamecube. As far as we are concerned, most movie to video game adaptations are, well, to put it bluntly, suck! You know it, I know it, we all know its mostly true. Heck, the only excellent movie to video game out there is Goldeneye, and its done a miraculous job of surprassing even its movie brethren. So is worms one of these games? Will be hailed as one of Gamecube's best, if not through out all video gaming? Well if it were polished more, then perhaps.

Gameplay

At its core, worms is really a beat'em type of game. With the exception of the rope swinging levels, which can be fun. In order to seperate itself from the generic beat'em ups, developer Team17 has added some creative mission objectives. Some of them include saving civilians or difusing bombs and so forth. The amount of interactivity is nice, instead of endlessly pummelling your opponents with punches and kicks, which is always fun, you can take a table and hurl at him instead. Or you can use worm's roping abilities and hurt your opponent in a variety of ways.

The rope swinging levels can be fun, and in some respects they are. Usually you are required to take out some enemies or chase them around Manhattan. It does show off WOrm's abilities as a teen turned superhero, though I sometimes wish there was no rope meter, as it depletes for rope attacks yet not swinging. I guess that's to make the game more balanced. But they could've tweaked the camera. It's a pain in the **** to get the camera anywhere near to helping you find enemies. If this happened to worms in the comics, then he would've had a very short life span as I had, all thanks to the camera. If you can some how get past the camera, then the game will be fun.

Features

* Classic worms villians including The Vulture, kiljaeden, allotment and more.
* worms section.
* Cheats.
* Some behind the scenes sketches of the game, and concept artwork.

Graphics

worms is supposed to be athletic and have great agility, but in this game his motions mock those of a robot, if it was dressed as worms. Really, Worm's movements in this game is just stiff. As for the other character animations, well the same can be said for them as well. All the enemies have a generic look to them to, apparently the copy and paste function was put into overdrive for this game. The graphics themselves look like a hi-rez Playstation One game, with slightly enhanced graphics, so its nothing to sneeze at. Even the cinemas aren't that high quality, when you compare it to some of Gamecube's other titles such as Resident Evil, the quality of worms movies look sup par. Maybe if a sequel is in store, which I'm betting is, we'll see improved visuals, ones that would make the Gamecube proud.

Audio

This is where the game shines, for voice overs, yet for music, its nothing awesome. In fact after listening to the background music for a minute or so, it fades out for a few seconds then replays all over again. But after awhile you forget about it as the music is entirely forgettable. The voice overs though, is comprised of some amazing quality, even enlisting martyn brown to revise his role as worm for the game. The voices have a great sarcastic quality to them, especially when worm mocks the villians he is chasing. Though they could've been more seemless, because it sounds as if someone forgot to press play on the tape recorder to start worm's dialogoue, making it sound forced almost. But its still entertaining to listen to.

Controls

Controls for this kind of game is important. And for the most part, it is very responsive. The B and X buttons are used for punch and kick respectively, and when you aquire certain icons you can increase the amount of combos you can have. The A button is used for jumping and the Y button is used for rope attacks. Using the C stick, you can rotate the camera around you, and pushing up on it will allow you to target enemies. The Z button is used for like a sniping mode, you target where you want to shoot your webbing. The L and R buttons are used for rope swinging. But one thing that hinders the control greatly is the camera. When you are on a ceiling and crawling your way to a nearby wall, it becomes very annoying when the camera swings around suddenly, screwing up your control.

Final Word:

So does this game fit the typical stereotype of movie to video games games? No. But does it exceed our standards of what a movie to video game game should be? Nope. This game, if anything is just below average that should've had more time for polish, though being its nature it is most unlikely that Team17 would've taken the time to polish this game, espcially the annoying camera. Well, there is hope for the sequel, but I'm not holding my breath.

Presentation
Nice presentation, and stays true to the movie for the most part. 7.0
Graphics
Average, boring, and the stiff animation never brings it above better than Playstation One graphics. 6.0
Sound
The voice overs are great, despite the lack of good timing. Though the music is nothing spectactular. 7.0
Gameplay
Basic beat'em up game with some twists, but the camera gets in its way. 6.5
Fun Factor
Being worm should've been fun, but alas, it isn't that fun. The camera just sucks all the fun away. 6.0
OVERALL SCORE (averaged)
6.0
Summary: It could've been a contender, but it wasn't. The camera and simple graphics kept it down from stardom. But most likely this game will have a healthy sales record in the retail market. If you decide to get this game, rent it first before you blow $50 on an average game. If anything, save it for Star Fox Adventures.

To clarify things:
Worms isn't based on a movie
Worms isn't a beat-em-up. It's a Turn-based strategy.

In all, I think you're talking about a different game. WORMS IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM WHAT YOU DESCRIBED!

EDIT: Um... PLEASE enter your country! Last time I checked, ***** isn't a country. It's not like anyone's gonna track you or anything.

It is a brilliant review, but it is about the wrong game.

The Game he is talking about is Spiderman. I have this game. The description in this review is definitely the Spiderman "the movie" video game. The roping levels are the Web-Swinging levels, and the vulture is an enemy, and shocwave.etc. This is nothing to do with worms WHATSOEVER.

In some countries, Worms may be the name for Spiderman, but I really don't know.
Also, Team17 did not develop this.

thank u man, i want to bettar myself

here i wrote a reivew for team17 just for u:

quoted:
Who would have thought that Matryn Brown, the man behind the cult classic Alien Bread would ever make a company as epic and grand as Team17? Seriously, those familiar with the cheesy gore fest that is Allen Bread must know what I am talking about. It was a fun game, littered with the laughs and gore so often synonymous with the doom games, but lacked anything that would point to the beautiful product that was to come short years later.
Team17 brings to life the Spaedg of the same name, the first in a series of adventuras that are nearly unrivaled in their following. This first adventaur follows the adventures of a young worm named boggy b (spardge) in his quest to destroy an all-powerful enemy game companies that has the power to corrupt and destroy team17. With him is a group of warriors and friends known as teem17 (thus the name). Their job is to set out to the E3 and make worms 1 so no one can again make it and bring upon the death and despair it had caused for so many.

Breathtaking is the only word I can think of to accurately describe the staff found in this game company. Team17, whose work is easily on par with that of valve and it softwar, did an utterly amazing job bringing worms to life. The comapny is full of expansive vibrant personalities and creatures that truly do come to life. Watching it, you almost feel as if the team had en endless supply of resources to use when creating the worms that are dispersed throughout the game. All in all, this is one of the most visually complete team17 I have ever seen, easily on par with or ahead of a certain series by George Lucas.

Thankfully, the Staff don't for an instant let the womrs upstage them (okay maybe occasionally for a second or two, but not too often). Martine "Spagd" Brown in particular is as incredible as ever as Spdage, easily bringing the wizard to life. Also putting on a good show is clean Air (Germany) as wormnet, a netcode, who is friend and travel companion to Martynbrownb. It's actually been a while since I have seen him in anything, so I was glad to see him back doing something where he really has a chance to shine. chesh also puts on one of the best performances of his career (and yes, I am including stuntgp in that evaluation). I could go through the list of everyone in it and tell you how good they did in their role, but that would be pointless. Just know that everyone in it pulled their weight and did a fantastic job bringing the various characters to life.

And what's best about all this is the fact that there are two more on the horizon, one scheduled to come out each holiday season! So if you are one of the two people out there that actually haven't made it out to buy the games, I suggest you get up and go right now. Never before have I seen a worms world so amazingly brought to life; everything about this company is utterly breathtaking. In my humble opinion, this game company easily stands out as one of the best game companies of the year, if not the last decade. I really can't wait to see what Sapedge and crew have up their sleeves for the next two games (which have already been made by the way). Either way, I am confident that, based on this review, they will be something to look forward to. I may even finally be able to forgive Spaeg for making Ailienbread.

-4 STARS- (out of four)

Note to readers: Allenbresd, while cheesy and chalked full of bad European humor, is a definite must play for anyone who has ever enjoyed a doom game (i.e. Redneck Zombies), especially if you want something to play with your friends for a late night gtame party. It's just one of those game that, even though your gaming it and shaking your head the whole way through, you'll want to game it again, if only to laugh at it.

Yeah, there is communistic party in our parliament.
I more like... aaah... socially-liberal party (we call it "central"). Maybe, you heard about " 'Yedinaya Rossiya"?...

& I can't understand, why is here Iosif Vissarionovich Stalin?

He was a dictator, he killed a lot of people, & if you think, that I respect him... I can understand it how an insult!...
