Aku's Forum Comic Poll

I've caught quite a bit of grief regarding my comics and the old comics (not this time around, granted, but the last time I tried I caught hell ), so I'm here to put an end to it all.

vote in the poll, and I'll either start doing sprite comics again or continue with the artsy comics.

edit: btw, I don't know if I can add a poll to my old thread, so I started this one. sorry AT/TP if I could've just added a poll to the old one, but too late now

I voted for sprites mostly because I feel that you can make sprite comics faster and without getting grief for copypasta.

And I think comic quantity is much more important than art quality in regards to humor comics.
Honestly, though, I just want the one that would be easier for you to make, so there would be a smaller lazy-hurdle to leap over.

I'm thinking that if you do sprite comics, you might put a little more effort into expressions, no offense.

And all that stuff Pigbuster said. I can see how it would be easier on you to do most of the spritework beforehand.

From a viewer point of view, sprites would be nicer to look at (considering your art ), but from an artist point of view, you should keep up with the vector art until you actually improve at it. Nothing better to gain experience at drawing than making a comic.

Altough rather than vector art, I would suggest hand drawing and scanning/coloring, and putting effort into your comics, but that's just me.

Vector. Sprites won't challenge you too much, if you do vectors it'll help you improve your vector art while you make it.

Plus there's a lot more potential with vectors. Sprites limit your range of expersions and positions.

Sprites.
Because I know you're tooo lazy to keep up with vector art at the same pace.

Sprites only serve to mask your shortcomings.

Be they made of pixels or vectors.

I think you should do a long epic serial comic about the battle between the Sprites and the Vectors.

(I don't really.)

I voted vector but i wish I voted sprites now.

I say sprites (despite my vote) because i myself would have the lazy issues too.
Hey, i'm too lazy to do sprites even!

I'll try dots some day, See if it works.

Neither - do whichever best serves the comic you envision. If it's mostly copy-and-paste writing based, then do sprites. If there's going to be a lot of stuff going on and expressions are very important, do vector art

Don't intentionally restrict yourself to a certain medium!

well, general consensus says sprites are the way to go, but only because i could make more and not quit from laziness. i have to agree. i would very likely quit the vector comics due to laziness. i'm not much of a comic artist, so sprites are probably for the best.....plus, this way i can put full effort into FAotM entries.

so i'll just do sprites. my writing is much better than my half-assed comic art anyway.

agreed. Meh, sprites are just simpler and leave alot more room for comical genius.
