I can't run Worms 3D on Windows 7!

I just bought and downloaded worms 3D from Gamestop.com. When i go to the install wizard for the game and hit "next" it tells me in a pop up that my O.S is not supported! I have no idea what to do. Please help me.

I'm quite surprised, mine worked without any issues (though mine is from the disk so that might have something to do with it). Have you tried running the installer in compatibility mode?

I also found Worms3D in my wormy games collection, tried to install it on Windows 7 to see how nice it crashes right after the start. I don't even see the Sega logo.
I tried the following things, of course after patching to the newest version:
  • Disabling the videos with the /NOMOVIES parameter in the advanced box of the launcher
  • Deleting the two intro videos in the data\fmv folder (sega.mpg and T17logo.mpg)
  • Installing a codec pack for video... codecs
  • Running both executables (launcher and main program) in Windows XP and other compatibility modes
  • Additional compatibility tweaking by disabling Aero and stuff

And the result is: nothing helps. It's very sad that it just doesn't work on Vista/7 anymore, I miss the missions there.
Not saying it too loud here, I think they want us to buy Worms 4 Mayhem since they have no solution for Worms3D and Worms 4 runs on Vista/7.

I have worms 3d too and it works great on Windows 8 , excepting that I can't see the t17 movie but I can see the sega one.

Pac-Man: I had that same issue as well. On Windows 7, I couldn't make Worms 3D run in any way, even the logo videos never appeared. But - the same copy in Windows 8 works perfectly fine. So my guess is that the guys at MS screwed something up in Windows 7.
Btw, do you have ATI/AMD card? I do.
